The India pet sale calendar: when prices actually drop.

6 min read · Updated July 2026 · By the PawDeals crew

Indian e-commerce runs on a rhythm — and pet products dance to it just like phones and fridges do. If you know the beat, you buy your dog's food at the trough instead of the peak. If you don't, you pay the "ran out on a Tuesday" price all year.

Here's the calendar every pet parent should pin to the fridge.

The year at a glance

Jan

Republic Day sales (mid–late Jan)

The year's first big platform-wide event. Solid discounts on gear and grooming; food discounts are decent but not the year's best.

Feb–Mar

The quiet stock-up window

Fewer headline sales, but pet-first stores run clearance on winter gear (beds, jackets). Good time to set price watchlists and wait.

Apr–May

Summer essentials + platform summer sales

Cooling mats, tick & flea season begins — preventives spike in demand, so buy them in March if you can. Mid-tier platform events appear.

Jul

Prime-style member events

Members-only mega events land in July. Historically strong for pet food lightning deals — short windows, deep cuts, gone in hours. Speed matters most here.

Aug

Independence Day sales (mid-Aug)

Reliable mid-sized event across platforms. Reasonable food deals; strong on accessories.

Sep–Oct

THE festive season: Big Billion Days & Great Indian Festival

The deepest discounts of the entire year, across every category including pet. If you buy food in bulk once a year, this is the moment. Stack bank-card offers on top for another 10%.

Nov

Diwali tail + Black Friday creep

Festive deals linger, and Black Friday-style events have grown every year. Pet-first D2C stores run their own strong events here.

Dec

Year-end clearance

Stores clear inventory before new-year stock. Good for toys, beds, and anything the algorithm wants gone.

The three traps in every sale

The inflated-MRP trick. A product's "60% off!" means little if the MRP was raised the week before. The defense is price history — knowing what the item actually sold for over the past 90 days. (We're building exactly this for pet products.)

The pack-size shuffle. A 3 kg bag at 30% off can still be pricier per kg than the 10 kg bag at 15% off. Always compare price per kg — it's the only honest number in pet food.

The expiry-date discount. Deep-discounted food sometimes ships with 2–3 months of shelf life left. Fine if your dog will finish it; a waste if it's a slow-feeding cat household. Check listings, and buy short-dated stock only at genuinely steep cuts.

The one-bag-ahead strategy: the single most powerful habit in pet budgeting. Always own one unopened bag. You'll never be forced to buy at full price again, and every sale event becomes usable instead of theoretical.

Why nobody actually does this

Because life. Nobody remembers in March that tick preventives spike in April. Nobody's refreshing six sites during a lightning-deal window at 2 pm on a Wednesday. The calendar only works if someone — or something — is watching it for you, and pings you the moment your dog's exact food crosses your target price.

That's the entire reason PawDeals exists.

Never miss the window again.

Set a watchlist on your pet's exact products. We ping your WhatsApp the moment the price drops — and guarantee you save 2× your fee, or the next month is free.
